George Fricks Obituary

MR. GEORGE "BUG" FRICKS, JR January 29, 1927 – July 21, 2008 PENDLETON, SC - Mr. George Washington Fricks, Jr., age 81, husband of Ada Porter Fricks of 240 Church Street, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson. Born in Pendleton, SC on January 29, 1927, Mr. Fricks was the son of the late George W. Fricks and Annie Gillespie Fricks. He was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and a member of Pendleton American Legion. He was a member of the Clemson Church of God where he was a song leader for many years and most recently attended West Anderson Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Ada Porter Fricks of the home; son, George Richard Fricks, and his wife, Diane of Pendleton; two grandsons, Toby Lee Fricks and his wife, Susannah and Andrew Scott Fricks and his wife Christi. Three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Carter and Garrett also survive. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Ruby Rowland, Eunice Moore, Eula Mae Simpson Reed, Kathryn Williams and Irene Smith. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 2:00 pm at West Anderson Church of God officiated by the Reverends Mark Daniel, John Daniel and Terry Carver. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Clemson. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mr. Fricks will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will be at the home of his son, 225 S. Elm Street, Pendleton, SC.
