Mr. Herbert Henry "Zeke" Jackson, Jr., age 70 of Hartwell, Ga. died Dec.20, 2017
He was born in Washington DC on April 2, 1947. The only son of Herbert Henry Jackson, Sr. and Grace Adams Jackson. He grew up in Silver Springs, MD. He attended Blair and Springbrook High Schools where he excelled in football, baseball and track. In 1967 he joined the Army and served in Vietnam where he earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star .
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters,, Mattie Williams, Grace Dorsey and Diane Hammond all of MD. Herbert is survived by his wife Laura Lamm Jackson, sisters, Irene Franklin and Pamela Jackson. Nine children, Donald, Martin, Dale, Quentin, Melton, Chad, Chay, Regina and Jordan, his mother-in-law, Elta Proctor, grandchildren, Briana Scruggs, Michael Scruggs and Lilliana Scruggs of Hart County and 16 other grandchildren in Maryland wand West Virginia
Memorial services for Mr. Herbert Jackson, Jr., will be on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at New Hope Hart Baptist Church in Hartwell. Rev.T.L. Jackson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Amercian Cancer Society, 105 Westpark Dr. C, Athens, GA 30605
Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell will be serving the Jackson family.
