Gail, I was so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Our days at Clemson seem so distant, yet the memories are so fresh. Our sincere condolences to you and to your family.

Helen, I have just read the most disturbing and surprising news that I may ever read.
I just saw yesterday's obit in the State Newspaper on the web and Dawson's name jumped out at me. Many good and cherished years from which I easily recall both of you at Pawleys Island. Good years but not enough of them. I strongly suspect there were many many people who benefited from his years of public, and private, service.
I would imagine Dawson and Katie have exchanged stories about all the good golfing times. I have no problem remembering those days. Much water has done under the bridge since those days.
I can only offer these words of faith and encouragement. God bless and keep you and family in His hands.

The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power,
To know just when the clock will stop,
At late or early hour.
So live your life, as best you can.
Love, work, serve with a will.
Place no faith in tomorrow,
For the clock may then be still
