Peter Mowlajko Obituary
Dr. Peter Steven Mowlajko, 56, of 212 Terrace Drive, husband of Patti Phillips Mowlajko, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born October 17, 1950 in Augusta, GA, he was the son of the late Andrei and Klementina Lazuruk Mowlajko and grew up in Barnwell, SC. He was a 1968 graduate of Barnwell High School, a 1972 graduate of Clemson University, and a 1977 graduate of MUSC College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Mowlajko practiced as a Dentist in Anderson for 28 years. He was a member of the Tri-County Dental Society and the American Dental Association of South Carolina. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity at Clemson University, was a Life Member of IPTAY, served as a IPTAY Representative for Anderson County, and served as President of the Anderson County Clemson Club in 1986. He was Past President of Anderson Free Clinic, and was a member of the Greater Anderson Rotary Club where he was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. Dr. Mowlajko was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Deacon and was Past President of the Heritage Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife, Patti of the home; one daughter, Margaret Helen "Molly" Mowlajko of Greenville; one son, Charles Andrew "Andy" Mowlajko of the home; two sisters, Lucia Mowlajko Greene and her husband, Ron Greene of Gatlinburg, TN, and Mary Mowlajko Darnell and her husband, Gerald Darnell of Dublin, GA; two sisters-in-law, Anne Phillips Ouzts of Anderson and Pamela Phillips Vaughn and her husband, Jack of LaGrange, GA; and his mother-in-law, Helen Oakley Phillips of Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles Bennett Phillips. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. Dennis Tedder. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. The family is at the residence. Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
