Shirley Hanford Obituary
Anderson, SC
Shirley Patterson Hanford, 76, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Warren, NC, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Mary Bell Patterson. She was retired from the Boulevard Baptist Child Enrichment Center. Mrs. Hanford was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Donald Hanford and wife, Cheryl, of Chrisney, Indiana; two daughters, Teresa Turner and husband, Fred, of Travelers Rest and Wanda Whiten and husband, Chris, of Pelzer; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and seven siblings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two great grandchildren and five siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Dr. Jack Couch. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 Saturday prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or Marietta First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 337, Marietta, SC 29661.

My sincere condolences to you and your family. Shirley took care of my son, Harris, when he was at Boulevard Child Enrichment Center. Harris was 3 years old when we relocated to Florida. Over the years, your mom continued to send Harris funny cards and cute little "care packages" I will always remember her kindness.
