April 22, 1946 - January 24, 2025
Herman Hugh (Buddy) Watts, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at his residence. Buddy was born April 22, 1946 in Cabarrus County son of the late Herman H. (Ginger) Watts and Faye Moose Watts. He was preceded in death by a son Jason Watts.
The Watts family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Lewis Whittington.
Buddy graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. He was in the Army stationed in Germany. Returning home he began work at the Concord Police Department. Later he became the ABC Officer and retired as Chief ABC Officer for Cabarrus County. He served on the ABC Board in Mt. Pleasant for many years. He served as a volunteer at Mt. Pleasant Fire Department for 26 years. He also worked at Gordon Funeral Home for several years after he retired. He enjoyed a lifetime of hunting and fishing and going to the Casino.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice Mosley Watts; son, Jeff Watts (Coleen); sister, Rose Edwards; grandchildren, Kaleb Vanover, Kyle Vanover (April), Chance Vanover (Amaya); great granddaughter, Oaklynn Vanover.
