Matthew Stahl Obituary

Matthew Waldron Stahl, 8, of Montrose, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, October 29, 2012 at his home.

Born June 15, 2004 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of John M. Jr. and Rachel A. (Durkin) Stahl.

He was a 3rd grade student at Lathrop Elementary School. He played Blue Ridge Youth Soccer.

Matthew was a passionate and extremely caring and sensitive boy. He was very well loved by his family. He had an infectious smile and laugh.

Matthew attended Bridgewater Baptist Church where he was involved in the Voyager and Sunday school Program.

He loved being outdoors building a tree fort and playing with his siblings and his dog Montana. He had a great imagination and enjoyed pirates and Iron Man.

Survivors include his Parents, John M. Jr. and Rachel A. Stahl of Montrose; siblings, Michayla and Jack Stahl; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Catherine Durkin of Orlando, Fla.; paternal grandparents, John M. Sr. and Diane Stahl of Montrose; maternal great grandparents, Charles and Nancy Landis of Pittston; paternal great grandparents, John and Catherine Shockley of Skillman, N.J., Jack W. and Barbara Stahl of Lecanto, Fla.; aunts and uncles, Cathleen Durkin, Rob and Sarah Durkin, Michael Stahl, Stephen and Mariah Stahl; his dog, Montana and bull calf, Thor, numerous great aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his maternal great grandparents, Tony & Una Durkin.

Services: Saturday 11AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Route 706, Montrose, PA 18801, followed by a luncheon at Bridgewater Baptist Church.

Visitation: 6:00-9:00 PM on Friday at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA.

Instead of flowers: memorial contributions may be made to The Matthew Waldron Stahl Memorial Fund, c/o The Community Foundation of Susquehanna County, 270 Lake Avenue, Montrose, PA 18801
