Doris Rambo Obituary

Doris Rambo, 95, of Wesley Commons and formerly of Plowden Avenue, died Friday, June 23, 2023 at Hospice House.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late William Herbert Rambo, Sr. and Eunice Dominick Rambo. Doris was a graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from Monsanto. She was a faithful member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Margaret Henderson Sunday School Class and the Mary Witt Circle. She was also a member of the Mary Pinckney Ouzts Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star.

Doris is survived by her sister, Betty Jo Godfrey of Spartanburg; a brother, William H. "Bill" Rambo, Jr. of Greenwood; sister-in-law, Beth Rambo and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Cotton Rambo and George Bennett Rambo, Sr; sister-in-law Jean Rambo; and brother -in-law Bob Godfrey.

Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carol Peppers Wray officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Honorary escort will be members of the Margaret Henderson Sunday School Class of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and members of the Mary Pinckney Ouzts Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

It is requested that flowers be omitted and memorials made to Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 1808 Callison Highway, Greenwood, SC 29646 or to Hospice House, 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
