George Boozer Obituary

George D. Boozer, age 73, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024. He was born on June 8, 1950 to the late Thelma Gilchrist and G. Frank Boozer.

George graduated from Greenwood High School and went on to graduate from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also earned his Master's Degree in Business from Troy State. He was a Lt. Commander for the U.S. Navy and served for 23 years. After retiring from the Navy, he worked at Omni Engineering at the shipyards in Gulfport, MS. He then moved to Lexington, SC to be close to his family. In his free time, George was an enthusiast with old cars and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Boozer of Lexington; son, Jason Boozer (Dana) of West Columbia; grandchildren, Andrew, Joshua, and Matthew Boozer; and his sister, Sarah Boozer Catoe (Mike) of Graniteville.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, South Carolina 29072, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM. A visitation will also take place after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George's name to the American Heart Association at P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284, www.heart.org/donate
