George Deale Obituary
George Anthony "Tony" Deale, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Born on May 17, 1958, in McCormick, South Carolina, Tony's kind and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.
Tony grew up in the warm embrace of McCormick, where he graduated from McCormick High School in 1976. His early years were filled with the love of his parents, George P. Deale and Frances Dillashaw Dail, and the guiding light of his grandmother, Nona B. Gable. Though they, along with his brother Gregory "Todd" Deale, daughter Gwendolyn April Deale, and his beloved dog Troy, preceded him in death, the legacy of love and courage they instilled in Tony lived on through his actions and the memories he created.
Tony's life was a testament to his dedication to his family and his craft. As a professional welder and foreman at the Savannah River Site, he was respected by his colleagues and was a proud member of the American Welding Society. His work was not just a job but a passion, one that he approached with the same level of commitment and excellence that he applied to every aspect of his life.
His love for his family was unparalleled. Tony is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki Lynn Deale, who stood by his side in every chapter of their journey together. His daughters, Sabrina Deale Broome (Mark), Jenna Brantley (Blake), and Summer Brantley Foskey (Kyle), were the apples of his eye, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and the beautiful families they built. His grandchildren, Mason Broome and Gentry Blake Floyd, brought him immeasurable joy and laughter. Tony also leaves behind his stepmother, Patricia "Pat" Deale, and his special aunt, Kathy Shirley, both of whom held a special place in his heart.
Tony's faith was an integral part of his life, and he attended Pinegrove Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he found strength and community. His belief in kindness and giving of oneself was evident in the way he lived his life and in the relationships he nurtured. He was a kind and gentle man who never raised his voice and was a friend to all who knew him.
An avid baseball fan, Tony's enthusiasm for the game was infectious. He spent many a day cheering on his favorite teams and imparting his love of the sport to his children and grandchildren. His dogs were also a source of happiness and companionship, and he is fondly remembered for the gentle way he cared for his furry friends.
Those who knew Tony will remember him as a courageous man who faced life's challenges with grace and determination. He was the embodiment of kindness, always ready with a word of encouragement or a helping hand. His gentle demeanor and warm smile were a comfort to many, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Tony would want to be remembered most by his love for life and for fighting until the end for he had been quadriplegic since 2013. He is now walking in Heaven surrounded by those who had gone before him. He will be missed by all but is now healed and at peace.
