Jo Fallaw Obituary

Jo Nell Vaughn Fallaw, 84, of Ninety Six, widow of Archie Maxie Fallaw, died Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Hospice House.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Eddie Milton and Jessie Henrietta Harden Vaughn. She retired from Greenwood Industries and had been employed by the Ninety Six Star & Banner, where she was the bookkeeper and typesetter. Jo Nell enjoyed reading and working puzzles; attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's ball games; and cheering on the Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves. Her happiest moments came when she was surrounded by her loving family. She was a faithful member of Abney Memorial Baptist Church for over 54 years, where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed participating in the Women's Prayer Group.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jo Nell was preceded in death by a son, Steve Kelley; sisters, Dot Boone, Harriet Dominick, Ruby Minor and Ruth Satterfield and her brothers, Milton Vaughn, Willie Vaughn and Calvin Vaughn.

She is survived by children, Kim Kelley Willis (Ernie), Kevin Fallaw (Laurie), Kenneth Fallaw (Amanda), Timmy Fallaw, Tony Fallaw (Crystal) and Tommy Fallaw (Amanda); a sister, Mary Birchmore; 22 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at Abney Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Arender officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Hampton Fallaw, Drake Fallaw, Jordan Fallaw, Michael Willis, Samuel Fallaw, and Liam Kelly.

Honorary escort will be Gage Latham, Gavin Bryan, Luke Burnett, Jaxon Burnett, and Rhett Fallaw.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont for their love and care of Mrs. Jo Nell. They would especially like to say thank you to Lauren Coates, Lori Shaw, Dr. Nancy Wicker, Ashley Walker, and Carrie Murdock.

Her granddaughter, Megan Burnett, would like to thank everyone who sent love and prayers to Mrs. Jo Nell over the past few months.

The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Amanda, 1104 Wilson Bridge Road, Ninety Six, SC 29666.
