Bradley A. Ausbrooks

52, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Indianapolis, IN. Born on March 27, 1963 in Beech Grove, IN he was a 1981 Perry Meridian graduate and graduate of the University of Maryland, and John Hopkins University, where he received his Master's degree in Telecommunications. 

A decorated U.S. Marine Gulf War veteran from 1981-1984, he served in Beirut and Grenada. Brad served as an advisor to Presidents Ford, Reagan, and Clinton. He was a former U.S. State Department Ambassador to Liberia and Haiti; where he traveled the world. He then worked for the C.I.A.

Currently he worked as a Senior Project Manager at Wells Fargo in Scottsdale, AZ. The City of Indianapolis named him as Honorary Deputy Chief of Police and he was a recipient of the Van Valer Bravery Award by Quest. His hobbies included, range shooting, golfing, swimming,  his motorcycle, and fine cars.

Survivors include his mother, Florence (Urioste) Ausbrooks; sister Sheila Ausbrooks; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Guthrie O'dell Ausbrooks on July 2, 1970, who was a Detective/Sergeant of the Indianapolis Police Department for 26 years.

Visitation: 3 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. The Funeral Service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 5 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Round Hill Cemetery with full military honors. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.ghherrmann.com
