Charles P. Whelchel
99, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. He was born on January 22, 1914 to Charles H. and Maude (Rushton) Whelchel in Noblesville, Indiana.
Charles worked 30 years as an Inspector for Firestone Industrial Products, Noblesville, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Arcadia.
He is survived by daughter, Phyllis (Gregg) Brooks of Noblesville; son, Neal (Annie) Whelchel of Atlanta; son, Stan Whelchel of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Bud Whelchel, Wes (Anna) Whelchel, Carrie (Eric) Werner, and Diana Prine; plus several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Rachel (Brooks) Whelchel, in 1992; and infant twin sister, Alice Whelchel.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home , 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with Pastor Mike Bullick officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. immediately prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
