Cynthia Anne Rutledge
71, of New Winchester, passed away October 14, 2014. Born December 28, 1942 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Charles R. and Ruth Irene Powell Smith. Cynthia was a 1960 graduate of New Winchester High School, 1963 graduate of St. Vincent Nursing School and became a minister in 2005 for the Baptist Ministry. She worked as a registered nurse for St. Vincent's Hospital from 1963-1964, Danville Community Hospital from 1964-1973, VA Hospital from 1973 until retiring in 2009. Cynthia was a member of the New Winchester Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Charles Justin Rutledge of Indianapolis; nephews, Jerry Lee Western of Brownsburg and Jeffery Allen Western of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sue Carol Smith Western. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 in the New Winchester Baptist Church with burial to follow in the New Winchester Cemetery. Pastor William Buddy Goss will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in the church. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bakerfuneralservice.com. Arrangements: Baker Funeral Home.
