David Hunzicker Obituary

David Edward Hunzicker

Indianapolis - David Edward Hunzicker, 26, passed away on July 26, 2018. David was much loved by his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Maureen Hunzicker (Jeffrey Underhill), his father Peter Hunzicker, his beloved older sister Casey (Matthew) Dellen, and his best friend and twin brother, John Hunzicker. David was very close to his aunts and uncles and especially his 20 cousins who adored him. He joins his loving grandparents, Linda and Ed Dahm and Casey and Gordon Hunzicker, in heaven.

He went to Cathedral High School, recently graduated from IUPUI where he was inducted into the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, and had begun work as a Spanish interpreter in health care. He also loved spending time at the family home at Lake Wawasee.

David had a quick smile, warm hug, and a funny story for every occasion. David is remembered for his sensitivity and compassion for the most vulnerable. He spent time living and volunteering with children in Peru and Guatemala and loved Latin culture, including making a great cup of coffee. He had a tender and pure heart recognized by everyone who knew him.

Visitation is on Tues, Jul 31 from 5 to 7 pm at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN. A Catholic mass and celebration of life will be held at 11 a. m. on Wed, Aug 1 at Holy Spirit Parish.

Dear Family of David,
Our team at Martti Indianapolis were deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. I traveled there to be with the team and support them on Tuesday and Wednesday and heard so many wonderful things about David. Even though he only worked at Martti for a short time his co-workers thought very highly of him. They told me how kind and considerate he was, how thoughtful he was in his work interpreting for patients and providers and that he always had a kind word for everyone. I only wish I had the opportunity to have met him. I too worked in Guatemala and would have liked to hear of his travels. We will be making a donation in his name to the foundation in Peru. I lost my daughter 2 years ago at age 23 so I know something of your pain. Please know the Martti family sends our deepest condolences.
Peace,
Erika Shell Castro

To the Hunzicker family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I met David on July 16th at work, instantly I knew he was a special young man, with lots of talents and so much to give to the world. He had such a great disposition at work, so professional and genuine. He is going to be missed; we were blessed to have met him even for such a short time.

We miss you already David, you impacted our hearts.
