Donald Paff Obituary

Donald Hugh Paff Sr. 80, went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2011. He was born on October 10, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Matthew Hugh and Beryl (Orrell) Paff. He was married to Carol Ann (McClarren) Paff on November 5, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN. Don was a graduate of the school of hard knocks. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954. He was a journeyman bricklayer who earned his gold card for 50 years of service. Don worked for Ford Motor Company on English Avenue for 26 years retiring in 1992. He also was employed for 12 years at the Meijer store on East 96th Street. Don was an avid bowler, and he was an active member of Sunnyside Road Baptist Church and former member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Don was a man of his word who taught his children the meaning of hard work and integrity, and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Carol Paff; his six children Donald Paff Jr, Sean (Larry) Jones, Derek (Elizabeth) Paff Sr, Dane Paff, Stacy (Stanley) Jones and Doug (Tina) Paff. He is survived by 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, February27 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street with services Monday, February 28 at 1 p.m. in the funeral center with Pastor John Dimmick officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Sunnyside Road Baptist Church. www.flannerbuchanan.com
