He experienced a second chance at love when he met Tina, with whom he shared an unwavering bond for over 20 years. This deep connection was a testament to the love they fostered, both as partners and as parents, creating a nurturing environment for their children Austin, Samantha, Kamil, Ares, and Etta Faye.

A vibrant character, Doug's humor and quick wit brought joy to those around him. He was a loving man who never met a stranger, and his ability to connect with others left a lasting impression on his community.
A passionate fan of Batman and a devoted supporter of the Colts, Doug loved to create mini shrines for game day in hopes of bringing his favorite team’s good fortune. Out of all the race fans, he was one of the biggest, he cheered on Indy racing and Nascar. His enthusiasm extended beyond sports; he was also an admirer of Star Wars. Despite his reluctance at times, he thoroughly enjoyed volunteering alongside his beautiful wife Tina, as they worked together to make a positive impact in their community.
Doug's proudest accomplishment was his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He cherished each moment spent with them, creating memories that he will endure beyond his years.
