Edward Paff Obituary

Edward Paff, born on December 27, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Greenville, North Carolina, at the age of 82.

Edward was a dedicated professional in the newspaper industry. He began his career as a typesetter and worked his way up to pre-press manager at the Citizen's Voice. He was a dedicated member of the CWA Union. When the newspaper that he was working for was bought by a company that would not negotiate with the union, he along with other union members chose to establish their own newspaper, The Citizen's Voice, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, which still serves as a vital source of news and community information.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward John Paff and Fern Thompson Paff, as well as his daughter-in-law, Bonnie Paff.

Edward leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia Paff, of Greenville, North Carolina. He is survived by his sons, Edward J. (Pat) Paff of DeKalb Junction, New York, and Steven Paff of Saugerties, New York; his daughter, Kristine Paff, of Greenville, North Carolina; his sister, Janet (Tom deceased) Fenton, of New Jersey; and his brother, Richard (Mary) Paff, of Michigan. He was a proud grandfather to Lauryn Paff, Edward Most, Jessica Most, Curtis Paff, Thomas Hartmann, Dr. Samantha Hartmann, Anthony Paff and Roger James Paff and six great-grandchildren and cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Pennsylvania to honor Edward's memory and celebrate his life.

Edward will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and whose lives he touched with his dedication, kindness, and commitment to his family and community.

Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to assist the Paff family.
