Carole Ann Morehead

Carole Ann Reed Morehead, 81, of Washington, NC formerly from Indiana passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026. She was a daughter of the late Baxter Cornelius Reed and Mable Louise Keller Reed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers and sister Oliver "Sonny" Reed, Richard "Dickey" Reed and Jan Gadsin.

Carole had a passion for teaching, she taught elementary school for 40 years. She had a true passion and love for children. Carole loved all her animals, especially her horses and dogs.

Surviving her are her son, Michael Morehead (Jennifer); sister Sharyl Groscost (Dan); grandchildren Chip Morehead and Hannah Kathleen Morehead; nieces, nephews and many friends.

A celebration of Carole's life 11:00 am, Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Joseph B. Paul, Jr. Funeral Service 4500 US-264, Washington, NC 27889 with Reverend Ken Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date at Oakdale Cemetery.
