Douglas A. Triplett, M.D.
69, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, April 20, 2013, following an extended illness.
He was born on August 7, 1943 in Lafayette. Dr. Triplett graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Pathology at Methodist Hospital and Ball Memorial Hospital.
Prior to his retirement in 2004, Dr. Triplett was Vice President and Director of Medical Education as well as Director of Hematology for Ball Memorial Hospital. In 1981, he became the Assistant Dean of Indiana University School of Medicine's Muncie Center.
In addition to the above accomplishments, Dr. Triplett was a partner in Pathologists Associated, Inc and founded Midwest Coagulation, Inc.
Surviving are his beloved children, Danielle Triplett, Chicago, IL and Douglas Alexander Triplett, Selma and their mother, Nannette Triplett, Selma; and his brother, Randall Triplett (wife, Nancy), Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Donald Triplett.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013, in Hazelwood Christian Church. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday or one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
