Elizabeth Silver Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" , Wilkinson Silver 78, of Indianapolis, died Thursday May 29, 2003 in St. Vincent Hospital. She was born September 22, 1924 in Sanford, Florida to the late Jackson Lee Elizabeth (Farley) Wilkinson. She married Dr. Richard Silver on July 20, 1949. Mrs. Silver received her degree as a registed nurse from Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville Florida. She was active in the Marion County Medical Auxillary, the Pan American Games Opening Ceremonies Committee and was also an active supporter of many arts organizations including the Indianapolis Museum of Art where she was a volunteer. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, a volunteer for the Indianapolis Ballet. She was a member of Crooked Stick Golf Club and an active supporter of AAU swimming. Survivors include: her husband, Dr. Richard Silver; daughters, Susan (Bruce) Wohlfeld of Ponte Verde, FL; Ellen (Dave) Busche of Round Rock, TX; sons, Robert (Mary Sue) Silver of Bain Bridge Island, Washington; Peter (Amy) Silver of Indianapolis, IN; and 10 grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. in Second Presbyterian Church with the family greeting friends in the parlor immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Indianapolis Affiliate, P.O. Box 90290 Indianapolis, IN 46290. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Leppert & Hensley Mortuary, Nora Chapel.
