George Kleiman Obituary

George H. Kleiman, Jr. 69, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. Born on February 12, 1940 in New Palestine, he was the son of George Henry, Sr. and Hilda (Kemper) Kleiman. He graduated from New Palestine High School in 1958. George married Lynn Kleiman on March 28, 1992 in New Palestine. He was a lifelong farmer in Hancock, Shelby, and surrounding counties. He had served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and was a member of New Life United Methodist Church and Cory's Crew (Relay For Life). He was also a member of the American Legion #102 in Morristown. Surviving him are his wife, Lynn Kleiman of Shelbyville; siblings, Phyllis Hart of Anderson, Indiana, Evelyn (Don) Cook of Markleville, Judith (Rich) Elsbury of Greenfield, and Sandra (Ralph) Jarvis of Peru; children, Randy (Karin) Kleiman of New Palestine, Chris (Daleen) Kleiman of Fountaintown, Indiana, and Mike (Missy) Kleiman, also of Fountaintown; step-children, Traci (Kevin) Carter of Greenfield, Kim (Shane) Blue of Markleville, and Amanda (Ryan) Ramsey of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Randi Jo, Katie Jo, Kenzie, Kelsey, Chris, Conner, Carlyn, Camryn, Hayden, Jessica, and Ryan; and great grandchild, Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Cory Cross. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 6, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will be on Monday, September 7, at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Reverend Slavens will officiate. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital, Pediatric Hematology Oncology, 30 S. Meridian St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46204 and the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
