86, longtime Indiana photo-journalist and freelancer with the Indianapolis Star-News, passed away October 2, 2016, in Sheridan, Indiana. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Sheridan First United Methodist Church, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. I'm another member of the Grady Franklin fan club. I met him when I started working for the old WTTV in Indianapolis. He was always friendly, gracious and thoughtful. In those days, as I was learning news photography, I appreciated the advice Grady provided. And I was amazed by his knowledge of western movies. What fun to know this man!
