Dr. Caplin's business was one of my accounts. I always enjoyed speaking to him not only on a business prospective but a personal one as well. He was very compassionate about his practice and his patients. He will be missed greatly.

Jim was a kind and caring person. He touched many lives and gave so much of himself to all those around him.
We will miss his smile and his sense of humor.
We feel fortunate to have known him.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Caplin family. I hope you will find comfort in God's promise at John 11:24,25. Knowing there is a future for those We have lost in death can be very reassuring during this difficult time.

To Jim's family and friends:
I first met Jim when he arrived in Corpus Christi in the late 1970's. He was just beginning his practice.
He was indeed a relentless force in everything he did; very much shown in our many tennis games and on our tennis team. He made new friends quickly(the Greenes included) and we all had a great time socializing. He was a great raconteur.
I returned to Minnesota in 1980 and last saw Jim in fall, 1990. He proudly gave me a tour of his practice and I met some of his staff who adored him.
My thoughts and prayers are with Jim. He will be greatly missed.

I'm so sad to get the news about my 2nd cousin, James "Jimmy" Caplin. When I was a teenager I had some good times with Jimmy when he was doing his residency in Miami. I also enjoyed visiting him in Kansas City around that time. He was a lot of fun. My prayers are with Jimmy and all that have suffered from his loss.
Dr. Caplin, Dr. Hatfield and Ms. Stetson, My wife, Cecilia and I, send our heartfelt prayers and condolences to you at this saddest time. I knew Jim

Dr. Caplin, Dr. Hatfield and Ms. Stetson,
My wife, Cecilia and I, send our heartfelt prayers and condolences to you at this saddest time. I knew Jim from the time I arrived in Corpus Christi. He did not share his illness with us and that saddens me. I am sure his medical staff made his last days as comfortable as possible.
Jim was essential in helping me into the pharmaceutical industry. I represented DuPont Pharmaceuticals in Corpus and the Rio Grande Valley from 1980 to 1983. I never would have been able to secure employment without Jim's intervention and counseling.
I had the great pleasure of meeting Aunt Dorothy, Mrs. Hatfield and the elder Dr. Hatfield. They were all wonderful people.
