Nicholas William Poehler

Indianapolis - Nicholas William Poehler, 90, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living in Indianapolis.

He was born April 1, 1928 to the late Nicholas and Sadie Poehler.

He married Irene Mansfield on April 16, 1949. They were married for 67 years before she preceded him in death on April 27, 2016. Nick had one brother, Robert, who passed away November 13, 1979.

Nick was a member of Union Congregational Church in Avon Park, Florida.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Michael (Linda) Poehler and Steven William (Diane) Poehler; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Nick's entire working career was at Indianapolis Power & Light. He also worked many years for Follett Books, as a side job. He traveled to college campuses around the U.S. buying books from college students at the end of the semesters.

His hobbies were fishing, hunting, playing cards, and making stained glass for gifts and family members.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2018 at Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 1:00 p.m.

Entombment will be at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
