Patrick J. "Pat" Doerr
73, Greenwood, passed away on Tuesday June 5, 2012.
Pat was a 1957 graduate of Cathedral High School and worked at GM Truck and Bus for 28 years, before retiring from the traffic department in 1991. He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 3660 and the UAW. While at St. Barnabas, Pat was active in many parish activities including Boy Scout Leader, Eucharistic Ministry, Maintenance Committee, Coaching, and many others. He was a man of many interests and talents including camping, singing, dancing, acting, golfing, Colts, racing, driving a tour bus, and working at the RCA Dome. Pat may have been known most as the man who knew no stranger.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcia Pfaff Doerr; infant daughter, Michelle; infant grandson, Levi; his mother, Mary Katherine "Marie" Doerr and is survived by his wife, Claudette Shepard Doerr; children, Kevin Doerr, Mark (Beth) Doerr, Cheryl (Leonard) Strickland, Glenn Shepard, Brian (Dottie) Shepard; sister, Donna (Alan) Arvesen; grandchildren, Alicia (Curtis), Joey, Bryan, Tyler, Zach, Tiffany, Michael, Jessi, Brooke, Nate, Nick and Ethan. Papaw's grandchildren's favorite memories are his love and humor, sleepovers, storyteller, ice cream, diet coke, and tenderloins, camping lantern, Eeyore, Flo's Hot Dogs, and Rascal's Fun Zone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 11, 2012 at 1 p.m. in St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home , where prayers will be said on Monday at 12:30 p.m. prior to Mass. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Oh how I shall miss you dear friend - My deepest sympathy to Claudette, and your children...Now I know why you didn't come to visit me this year when in Indy. So very sorry I didn't know until to late. Now, you are with my sweet hubby Bob, and much missed son Tony. Mostly however? Home forever with our precious Lord and Savior, JESUS!
