Carolyn Marie Doerr

Carolyn Marie Doerr, 80, of Village Mills, died peacefully at home, in the early morning of Friday, December 12, 2025. She was born on August 4, 1945, in Port Arthur, to Bibian Dore and Antoine Poche, and was their firstborn daughter.

Carolyn was a very social person who loved talking to people. She enjoyed working as a telephone operator and rental car agent in her earlier years, before becoming a full-time stay at home mother and wife. As all her kids aged into school, she either worked or volunteered at school as well. At this time in her life, she enjoyed reading, cooking, crocheting, and occasionally, gardening.

Carolyn's transition into retirement was timed around the last of her children leaving for college and her cancer diagnosis. At this point, she had relocated to Wildwood and went back and forth to Houston for treatment. She successfully completed her treatment and went into remission in 2008. After she fully recovered, she was able to enjoy raising her Yorkie puppies, riding in the golf cart around her neighborhood, as well numerous trips and cruises, her favorite trip being the African Safari. Friends and neighbors recall her being one of the first people to meet upon moving in.

Survivors include her husband, Greg Doerr of Wildwood; children, Cheryl Richardson and her husband, Tom, of Fannett; Randy Picou and his wife, Tonette, of Beaumont; Christina Minchew and her husband, Marcus, of Georgetown; and Kevin Doerr and his wife, Kamryn, of Boston, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Alex Richardson, Santino Picou, Dominick Picou, Marcus Minchew, Clara Minchew, Charlotte Doerr, and Camila Doerr; and sister, Linda Kay Prioux.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Donald Poche.

She will be dearly missed by all.

A memorial service for Mrs. Doerr will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton, under the direction of Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont.
