Rita Marie Ward

61, of McCordsville, passed away on July 23, 2017. She was born September 8, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana to John O'Brien and Rita Mary Richter Vollmer.  She was a member of St. George Orthodox Christian Church. Rita was very active in AA and help sponsored several women.

Rita is survived by her sons John (Jamie) Ward, Thomas Ward Jr., Patrick Ward, grandchildren Gage Gabel, Sadie Ward and Sophia Ward.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, with a Trisagion Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 10 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Christian Church, with visitation an hour before. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials in Rita's name may be made to St. George Orthodox Christian Church. Tributes may be made at

Rita came into my life when I was age 14.
Will always remember the fun times we had
in high school and after ! I will carry those happy memories with me .
My prayers go out to the family !! So sorry for your loss.
