Thomas J. Williamson
71, of Greenwood, was called Home on Saturday March 17, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital South in Indianapolis after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born at St. Francis Hospital-Beech Grove on June 7, 1940 to the late Thomas and Mary Mentel Williamson. He married RuthAnn (Wheatley) Williamson on August 29, 1959. Survivors include his wife, RuthAnn Williamson; three sons, Tom (Michelle), Daniel J. (Angie) and John M. (Terri) Williamson; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and countless friends and loved ones. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1958. Tom's dad founded Thomas Williamson Construction in 1952. Tom started to work for the company at a very young age and then took over the company when his father retired. He was a 50+ year member of Bricklayers Union Local 4 in Indianapolis. Tom was involved with many organizations during his lifetime. Those include Knights of Columbus Council 3660, Building Committee of St. Barnabas, Mason Contractors Association of Indianapolis, Lay Board of Advisors for Our Lady of Grace Monastery (the nuns at the Monastery were always near and dear to Tom's heart). He was also involved with Southside Fellowship and with The Little League by coaching and sponsoring his children and grandchildren because of his love for baseball. Tom found great pleasure in golfing, fishing, vacationing, flying, motorcycle riding and in later years enjoyed meeting with his friends at the Sacred Heart Luncheons. He also enjoyed spending time working in his wood shop and always commented "I can take the most expensive piece of wood and make the most expensive saw dust you've ever seen". Tom loved his family and friends unconditionally and will be forever missed and remembered. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Grace Monastery, St. Barnabas Church or Southside Fellowship.
