While at Thanksgiving dinner the other day with my sister and her family I met a friend of hers who is in the bicycle business. I mentioned to Ginny that the person who taught me how it ride a 2 wheeler was none other than Ally, not even knowing that she had passed. Ginny then mentioned this page and sent it to me so I could share that little story. Hope everyone is doing well.

From the moment I met Ally, I loved her. She sized me up when she found out I was marrying her nephew, and I was relieved when I passed the test. After that, I felt immediately welcomed into the family and I appreciated and respected Ally's devotion to her family as well as her willingness to embrace new members. I enjoyed so many fun times with her dancing, crabbing, and hanging out, as well as some really great conversations about the mysteries of life. Ally was amazing and very special. I'm honored to have become her niece and friend.

I didn't have the privilege of knowing
Ally in those early years. It's been close
to 30 years ago that I met her. They are years of memories I will cherish that go on and on.Laughter she brought to me to last a lifetime.Right up to a
day I spent with her in mid-Sept. She had that great sense of humor, her quiet
inside laugh, and those facial expressions that "said it all" while we
would reminiscence.Her love of life,
boating,fishing and crabbing.Believe
me you haven't crabbed till you crab with the "craboligist".We loved to sit on her boat drink beer and tell lies.
We've shared many things but girl's
week-ends were the best.From the Mts.to the shore.Ally was as genuine as leather,crazy as a bedbug,and a no
frills kinda girl. She left an impact on everyone fortunate enough to be a part of her life.I loved her like a
"sister" and will truly miss her till
we meet again. Rosebud

I, too, grew up on Greeby St, one of the most populated streets with kids in the city of Phila. but Ally always stood out among the many with her dazzling always present smile that will always be her trademark along with her kindness. She was my next door neighbor along with all of the bewitching blond haired, blue eyed Shaw girls. We shared secret message knocks on the adjoining walls with our codes and there was never a dull moment. Ally will be dearly missed by all, but her smile will live on in our hearts until we all join her.

Ally I know is so very very proud at the joyous way her family and friends expressed there love and memories of a life cut so short. Marty and I attended her service yesterday. We were just overwhelmed at the sadness of her loss but we took home a feeling of comfort and peace and also a sense of pride and I now realize just how lucky I am to be a part of Allys' family. It was the greatest celebration of someones life I ever experienced and thank God I was a part of it. We will miss Ally but look forward to the 1st Annual Ally Shaw Memorial Crab Fest/Feast & Contest. Love you'll Patty DeMarco and Marty Shaw formerly of Philly and now Pocono Folk

I will always remember her smile, and all the repair "bargin" stories she had regarding her boat. Best memories, the day she took me, Pat and Matthew out on her boat in Sea Isle, the weekend mountain trip to I think her aunt's house, and the corner years growing up..parties, singing Rolling Stone songs with her...wow Great Times!!! Thanks for being in my life....

I will have wonderful memories of my dear friend for the rest of my life, even though you forced me to go crabbing and water ski when I can't even swim! I rejoice for you because your suffering is over and you now know more joy than ever before. We, Al, Mary and Moose, miss you so much. May perpetual light shine upon you my friend.

Ally was one of those people who made more than an impression on you--she made an imprint. She could find humor in anything and had the gift of making everyone laugh. She was a great friend to me & my husband, and we will miss her dearly.

Sigh, another light gone out in our lives. I hadn't laid eyes on Ally since the nineties, and yet thought of her the other day when an acquaintence told me of her new kid, Ally! I stated the this was my first girlfriend's name. It's been 40 years since that time, and I've not encountered anyone since with that same sparkle. Sail on, girl!

Ally taught us how to live as Independent women in a world that thought we should live otherwise... "and in the end its not the years in your life that count... it is the life in your years." I will miss your infectious good will toward others, your willingness to be open and always forgiving, love you Ally... Di

Most of my memories of Ally involve crabbing, boating, and the shore. To me, that means she knew how to enjoy life. Once when I was about 6 or 7 years old, she let me drive the boat for a few minutes. That was so cool - it made my day. Cap'n Ally, you will be missed.

Ally was such a great person. Someone that would do anything for anyone if at all possible. She had such a big heart and I will truly miss her, her laugh, her attitude, even her singing Jimmy Buffet's "Cheeseburger in Paradise", for all who never heard it, that was a real treat! She was a nut! Rest in Peace my friend.

I cannot believe that my oldest and dearest friend is gone. Ally and I grew up together on Greeby St. and remained close friends throughout these many years. What a funny, sarcastic, sharp-witted person she was. What a caring, supportive and giving friend she was. I will never, ever forget my BFF !!!! Missing you so much, Shaw face!! Love, Marcy Curry Knauss

I will always have wonderful memories of Ally from our early days on Greeby St, riding bikes, trick or treating, swimming at Boulevard pools, going to the dances at St Matts and Ransom. All of the things kids do growing up in Philadelphia.
She was so much fun and a really great person. I will miss her and her kind spirit.
