Dear Celia:
I only just learned of Brad's death while Googling names from the past. We were neighbors more than 30 years ago in the Army at Dugway, Utah. I remember Brad as a brilliant and talented physician. In reading the tributes on this page I'm not the least bit surprised to see that he went on to become a caring physician to many people. My condolences.

Brad was a great doctor and person. He was dedicated to his patients to the end. One of the most brilliant people I ever met. Loved his family and his children. Honest, kind and open.

As a fellow MM patient, I often read Dr. Rothkopf's post on the MM Listserv. My condolences to the family. He was very helpful to those of us suffering from multiple myeloma. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Rothkopf's death. He was such a knowledgeable physician to work with during the Social Security hearings he participated in by telephone. I will truly miss working with him.

I had just heard of Brad Rothkopf's passing this weekend. I have worked as a nurse at Einstein Hospital since 2000. I have had the privelege of having Dr. Rothkopf's patients over the years- a brilliant doctor and a wonderful person. So very sorry for your loss.

Dr. Brad Rothkopf. . .It is quite possible my blood pressure rose prior to a visit to a certain Godfrey Avenue office. "White coat syndrome?" No,
for sure. . .Anticipation at the prospect of a "bad report? Never gave that a thought. . .The prospect of seeing the doctor who commanded my respect and became a true friend. . .
Yes, the joy of an appointment with a doctor who cared so much for his "troops" literally made me happily anxious.
On March 30, 2004, Dr. Brad came to Einstein Hospital well past one's normal sleeping time to stay with my darling wife and mother-in-law until he knew I was "out of the woods." From that instant on, Dr. Rothkopf became a revered friend.
Sandra and Burton Klein are forever grateful.

I am a fellow member of the online MM Listserv community and want to express my condolences to Brad's family. Brad's posts contributed greatly to the betterment of all and I will miss him. I had the pleasure of speaking directly with Brad several years ago to discuss several research articles. He was a learned man who shared his knowledge willingly. Carole Giampalmi

I am deeply saddened by Dr. Rothkopf's passing. As a companion member of his in the Philadelphia Multiple Myeloma Networking Group, I marveled at the medical knowledge and expertise he brought to discussions of this terrible disease. He was tireless and selfless, both in person and online, as he dispensed advice and broke down medical jargon for other myeloma patients. He will be greatly missed by many. Peace to him and his family.

My mother who, lived at the Philip Murray House, was a patient of Dr. Rothkopf during the 1970's and early 1980's. He was so attentive to her and she loved him and he loved her so much so that he attended her funeral and even went to the cemetery. Our family was extremely appreciative of the care he gave to her. He even made house calls!!!
I was saddened to read about his passing but I wanted his family to know of the bond between my very old, sick mother and her young and caring doctor.
