BRIAN DOUGHERTY

DOUGHERTY BRIAN J. 67, of Barrington, NJ, died peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023, with loved ones at his side. Brian's life was marked by personal achievement and professional excellence. Born in Bristol PA, he was valedictorian of his class at Bristol High School. He graduated from Bucknell University (Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude), and from Harvard Law School (Juris Doctor, Cum Laude). Brian practiced at the highest levels of the legal profession, retiring after over thirty years in the employee benefits and executive compensation practice at the Morgan Lewis Law Firm. Nationally recognized for his professional achievements, Brian was a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and was recognized by Chambers USA, among a long list of honors and professional recognitions. Brian was a trusted advisor to major US and international employers, and other lawyers sought him out for his careful analysis and advice on complicated matters. He was a long-time member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Cherry Hill, NJ, where he served two terms as an Elder, serving last on the Personnel Committee of Session, and was a regular member of the choir and the church's holiday band. Brian is survived by his partner and fiancée, Jaimee Gilmartin, with whom he had embarked on new adventures. Brian leaves a daughter, Gillian ("Gillie") Malone (Matthew) of Houston, TX and was previously married to Pam Dougherty of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 9 to 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 499 Route 70 East, Cherry Hill, NJ, 08034, to be followed by a Funeral Service at the Church.
