I'm still holding on to your memory Brian. I hope you don't mind me calling you that since you were my commanding officer. I do think about you and the others often. Brian, it was great serving with you. I was talking about you with a workmate the other day. You had a canteen cup you'd use when we visited Iraqi leaders throughout the area of operations. For some reason, that stuck out as your signature item. It was something unique that identified you. I remember the day the of the accident. It was the same time I was ambushed outside Tarmiyah. The two events are tied together forever in my mind.

I am so sorry for your loss.
My name is Maggie Selzer, and I am directing ‘Run for the Fallen 5K run/walk’ in Boalsburg, PA (just outside of State College) on August 24th, 2008. The event, held on the PA military Museum grounds, aims to keep alive the memory of all fallen soldiers, but particularly those from PA. All proceeds from the event will go to organizations that support the families of fallen soldiers and supports wounded soldiers.

Sheryl, and Faunce Family
Brian is always in our thoughts, and prayers. Please know there are so many of us that miss, and remember Brian along with you. Our days at Fort Drum have remained some of our favorites, and mostly because of our memories of Brian. The kids remember Capt. Faunce, and never hesitate to speak of him, and his sacrifice when they talk to others. I've named my potato salad recipe 'Brian's Potato salad', because he liked it so much, and think of him whenever I make it.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

I am a 12 year old girl from P.A. and am doing a project on Brian Faunce. I have a brother, uncle and grandpa in the army. I picked him on my project because my brother went to Fort Benning G.A., and was shipped to Fort Carson Army base. I am doing this because i want the peoople who fight for us to know that when you leave this world there are still people out there who care and think about what you have dont to make our country a better place to be. I thank you for that. I think about what people are doing to help us every day to protect us every minute of every hour. With that said, I thank you for giving up your life for all of us. He did come back towards the end of April, 2004, but his heart was no longer beating. I can empathize with your pain. Never did I expect this and I do not feel that this hole will ever be refilled. To CPT. Faunces family, My name Jesse Burr I was a Staff Sergeant in Brians unit (B Co). I apologize for not writting sooner I have been wrestling with the death of your loved one and MY HERO for a long time now and also I didn't know this site existed till now. I served with Brian in Iraq as the Company Headquarters Platoon Sergeant and as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) Section Leader. I had very close contact with CPT. Faunce as I knew him. Working in Headquarters Platoon I was with him as we made battle plans and and conducted breifings to all the other platoons. I have seen the courage first hand that Brian presented in the face of the enemy. He was a great company commander a great leader and most of all a great friend who will never be forgotten by this soldier. I remember the day before he passed we had conducted first aid training and he wanted me to administer an IV into him and he complimented me on how fast and almost painless it was. He was a tough guy who was picked on alot about his hieght but he definitly knew how to take a joke and for all he lacked in hieght to me he was ten foot tall and was a tough man. So on behalf of all the men that served with you CPT Faunce I wish to thank you for your leadership and ability to save other mens lives through your tough training and through your ability to speak with soldiers about thier personal issues. We love ya "Little Man".

It was a very sad day when I heard of the loss of Brian. My mother sent me a program from the funeral that still hangs in a frame of soldiers raising the flag on Mt Suribachi in my office. I look at it daily.
I hadn't seen Brian in at least 15 yrs but I do have a great memory of the two of us goofing off late one night (when we probably should not have been out that late) on a swimming trip to St Croix. His family allowed me to stay with them in the condo....in essence they made the very memorable trip possible for me. I have been to his website and I check it frequently. As a former airman in the Navy I have seen my fair share of officers. After reading some of the other entries I am positive he was a great one and I know I would have been happy to be led by him.
I would also like to say Hi and send my best wishes to the rest of his family. Hi Danielle, Sam, Judy and Rich. It has been years since I have seen most of you but I wish everyone the best!
I am very proud to say I knew Brian Faunce!

I recently saw Brians pic. on military city.com. I hope your family is doing better and,finding some way to cope with your loss. Brian looks like he was a great guy and,it makes me sad [somebody who didn't even know him]to look at his picture.
