Mrs Cassidy,
The loss you and your family have experienced is at best tragic. I can relate to the sudden loss of your husband, not the gruesome mothod of the loss and my heart goes out to you and your children.
For the sake of the furture of your family grieve as you will but do not allow the magic of holidays and birthdays to also be be taken from you. Your childen deserve to learn that life does go on, as painful as that can be. And that truly is the beauty of life. You are constantly in my prayers.

To the Cassidy Family
The 1st's are always the hardest, Trust me on this one. It will be 5 years I lost my husband Jan 12. The Lord will never give you more than you can handle. I am in no way a religous "nut" but I do find comfort knowing this. Be there for one another, wipe away each others tears and always remember Chuck would never ever want you to be sad.
May you know in your heart he is watching over you and remember this saying. "Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but holes where I loved ones look down upon us" Remember the good times and smile. Chuck is smiling now being in Heaven with Our Lord.

MUCH to be thankful for. GOD gave us a man who helped us all in many ways that we may not be aware of yet. One day we will. I stood with pride and honor, in awe and in prayer, as they came up Second street. I'm thankful for the family and friends he helped create. He considered his service to us his duty, his privelidge, his blessing. Our thanksgiving is OUR duty, our privelidge and blessing in return. May God keep us in the assurance of His promise. Thanks to Jesus, we will see "Chuck" again. Thank you Officer Cassidy, and family, and friends. God Bless You All.

To The Cassidys: First and foremost, your family is and has been in my family's prayers. Losing a husband and father, will always come to you as the most difficult time of your life. To help you through this all you have to do is look at this City and surrounding area for some comfort. I'm proud of my Philadelphia background and tell my 3 sons what a great city we have. All the more reason because of men like your husband and father who protect us. Take comfort in knowing Chuck is in the strong and loving hands of God. He is at rest and will be until the day he sees you all in Heaven.

To The Cassidy Family,
My heart goes out to you at this time. I watched the whole funeral on T.V and all I did was cry. You have lost such a wonderful Husband, Father, Son, Uncle and Friend. No words can express how Phila felt for your family. You have so many good memories of him. You have something some people never know in a life time the love of a wonderful husband and father. I will pray for you and your family and I know he is watching over you.
Again, you have my deepest sympathy.

When I must leave you for a little while please do not grieve and shed wild tears and hug your sorrow to you through the years. But start out bravely with a gallent smile; And for my sake and in my name live on and do all the things the same. Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways. Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer and I in turn will comfort you and hold you near. And never, never be afraid to die, For I am waiting for you in the sky! GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Today is November 15, 2007, the 3 year anniversary of my husbands death. He too was shot and killed in West Oak Lane. Since I heard the dreadful news about Chuck I couldn't stop thinking that he could have been one of the first to arrive on the scene when my husband was shot and killed. I think about and pray for you and your family each day. My life has moved on, I have new memories, I laugh again but underneath it all there is a place in my head and my heart that I am still unable to go. Today is a hard day for me and the four kids. We'll go to the cemetary and visit my husband, Harold Wexler, and we'll be thinking of you and your children today as well.

To The Cassidy Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Your family hasn't left my thoughts or prayers since the day everything happened. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts & prayers and hope that the pain will lessen as time passes.
I only met Mr. Cassidy a few times at softball games, or St. Hubert events with my sister but it meant to much to me, and my family, that he went out of his way to check on my sister while she was living out at LaSalle University. It was comforting to my and my parents that we knew someone was looking out for her while she was out there.
Your dad/husband/uncle will never be forgotten and I'm so so sorry that this tragedy happened.

November 13, 2007

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I knew as soon as I saw his picture that I went to school with him in Olney. It must have been elementary school because he went to Dougherty and I went to Olney High but he must have went to Lowell? I remember him and his smile today is still the same as it was then. I am sure he will be smiling down on you and your family for the days ahead. God bless all of you and may you find peace in your beautiful memories. A great loss to your family and all of us connected in one way or another. Peace be with you all.
