Charles MacIntosh Obituary

Macintosh Charles August 15, 1933 - Feb. 12, 2025 Charles Archibald MacIntosh, son of the late Dr. Archibald and Margaret Taylor MacIntosh, died peacefully on February 12, 2025 at the age of 91. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Cabell Dugdale MacIntosh; their 3 children, William (Kerry), Elizabeth, and Andrew (Clare); and 5 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Gertrude MacIntosh Brett. He was a great-great-nephew of Joseph Wright Taylor, founder of Bryn Mawr College. Born in Haverford, Pennsylvania, he attended Haverford Friends School and The Haverford School. He was a 1956 ROTC graduate of Washington and Lee University and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 including a deployment to Korea. After earning an M.P.H. from Yale, he held roles in hospital administration. Among his many interests were piloting airplanes, running marathons, playing tennis and squash, playing the bagpipes, sailing, and painting watercolors. He was a member the St. Andrews Society, the Merion Cricket Club, Pocono Lake Preserve, and the Valley Forge Gun Club. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 2 P.M. at the Church of Redeemer, Bryn Mawr. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

Charles, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. The final battle is now over and peace has been restored. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
