Clyde Mentzer Obituary

MENTZER


CLYDE S., passed away Nov. 7, 2003, at Ephrata Hospital, a recent resident at Ephrata Manor Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 15, 1012 in Ephrata, PA. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lebanon Valley College in 1936, from which he later received the prestigious "Hotdag Frank" award for outstanding service to the college. After graduation Clyde moved to the Upper Darby area, where he worked for the U. S. Post Office for 36 years and at TV Guide for 10 years. Clyde was very active in Church activities most recently at Paoli Presbyterian Church, and sang in choirs most of his adult life. He was also involved with the Upper Darby Booster Clubs, Red Cross Blood Drives, Boy Scouts, Church Basketball and various civic events. Clyde was first married to Elizabeth Keller who died in 1963 and they had 2 sons Tom who died in 1960 and Richard who lives in Kalamazoo, MI. He also had been married to Mary Brennamen and Virginia Snyder who have preceded him in death. Beside son Richard he is survived by 2 grandchildren Tom and Mike and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral Service Wed. Nov. 12, at 11 A.M. at Paoli Presbyterian Church, 225 S. Valley Rd., Paoli, PA. His Life Celebration Viewing will be held on Tues., Nov. 11 MAUGER/GIVNISH OF MALVERN, 24 Monument Ave., Malvern PA.from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in his name to Lebanon Valley College, Annville, PA or your favorite charity.
