DANIEL DEVINE Obituary
REVEREND DANIEL P.
Father Devine was born on August 1, 1937, in Philadelphia PA. He is the son of the late Patrick Joseph Devine and the late Rose Ellen Devine. Father Devine attended Transfiguration Parochial School, Philadelphia, and Saint Thomas More High School, Philadelphia, before entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Father Devine was ordained on May 22, 1965, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend John J. Krol. Father Devine served as Parochial Vicar, Saint Katharine of Siena Parish, Wayne; Resurrection of Our Lord Parish, Chester; Saint Aloysius Parish, Pottstown; Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Philadelphia; Faculty member of Bishop McDevitt High School, Wyncote; Pastor of Saint Agatha/Saint James, Philadelphia. In 1993, Father Devine was appointed Pastor, Assumption B.V.M. Parish, Feasterville, and named Pastor Emeritus there in 2007. Father Devine also served as Senior Priest at Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, Drexel Hill.
The Reception of the Body will be held at Assumption B.V.M. Church, Feasterville, on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 6 P.M., followed by a Viewing. A parish Mass will be held at 7 P.M. Most Reverend Timothy C. Senior will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Devine at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Secane, on Monday, July 17, 2017, at 11 A.M. A Viewing will be held beginning at 9 A.M.
Father Devine is survived by his brother, Robert Devine, and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by siblings, Peg Hastings, Joe Devine, Ed Devine and Jack Devine. Interment will be at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, family prefers donations be sent to Office of Catholic Education for Inner City Children, 222 N. 17th St., Phila. PA 19103.

I remember playing basketball with you and Bobby in our back yard driveway hoop in Secane down the road and across the street from OLF on South Ave . You both are great guys and I always looked up to both of you.

I was shocked to hear of the passing of Fr. Devine. Will miss our bantering. Fr Devine married my husband and I in 1994. He will be sadly missed. RIP
