DAVID FARBER Obituary

FARBER

DAVID M, 55, of Margate NJ, passed away on October 23, 2012. Beloved husband of Alexandra (nee Dessoff); father of William; son of Vickie and Jack Farber; brother to Ellen Farber, and uncle to Kenneth, Leigh, and Blake Kurtzman.
David was born in Philadelphia, graduating from Cheltenham High School and Pennco Tech. He pursued his passion for cars beginning at age 15, and was an entrepreneur in the used car business for over 30 years. He later ventured into Real Estate Investment and Development.
He married Alexandra, and moved to Margate, where he enjoyed some of the happiest years of his life. He was fortunate to develop a wide variety of friends, dine out for every meal, and enjoy long naps always with a loving "pack" of old dogs he and Alexandra would adopt as seniors. His current "pack" is Bitsy, Daxie ("The Girl"), Webby, Sonic, and Jed. He was well known for his extensive collection of antique and other memorabilia related to Frank Sinatra, "oldies" music, classic cars, and classic car models, among other treasures. As In the words of Frank Sinatra: it was always "My Way".. he is loved and will be missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held Today, Thursday, at 11 A.M., at Temple Emeth Shalom, 8501 Ventnor Avenue, Margate NJ. The family asks that contributions in David's memory may be made to The Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N. Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360. Arr.

In life we can grow so far apart, and yet in death, we seem to close the gap of time. I hadn't seen David for at least 35 years, but I remember as children we played in the playground at Cheltenham Elementary -- that too is no longer there, but my fond memories of our childhood will always bring me joy and make me chuckle. Your Husband/Dad was fun and funny. He will be missed, but he really is still here in our hearts.

Oh! I am so sad to hear of David's passing - the world is off kilter. I loved seeing David's posts on facebook and looked forward to the oft-changing profile pic. I enjoyed his bantering with Billy and protests of being de-friended because I could feel the love between them. And I felt so loved and cared for when he'd contact me because he hadn't heard from me in awhile.... David, thank you for being so wonderful (even when I wasn't) and for humoring me with your witty observations. I hope you're enjoying good times with Frank! Alexandra and Billy: you are in my thoughts. Though I never met you, I "heard" David's love for each of you in his fb postings. Lucky you! Lucky us!

I miss our facebook exchanges, miss you, and miss that we didn't get a chance to meet each other in person. You expressed such passion for life and now there is an empty space where you were- I can only imagine the loss your family and close friends have and my deepest sympathy to them.
