May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. I met Dennis at Cabrini University when I enrolled into the MSOL degree program. Dennis was so encouraging and supportive. His door was always open and he always had a smile on his face and kind words to say. He helped me to see my potential and that in itself is a lifelong gift I will always cherish! May he rest in peace. Dennis, you will be missed. Thank you for all you contributed to everyone who knew you at Cabrini's MSOL program.

I want to extend my condolences
to Gaye and the entire Dougherty family.
Coach Dougherty was our Freshmen Basketball Coach
in 1970 at Archbishop Kennedy
HS. He was a very demanding
coach! However, he was very fair
and drilled in us the fundamentals of the game and
attention to all details of basketball. No doubt, we were the best condition team in our league! We were very successful
as freshmen. Coach stayed with
us as an assistant to our varsity
years.
We as a team collectively agreed
that Coach Dougherty was the
primary reason we won the league championship in 1974.
Five guys from Conshohocken
that exhibited / displayed the
coaching principles of Coach
on the basketball court!
We were able to share our love
and respect for Coach in our 40th and 45th anniversary of
our 1974 championship.
On a personal note, Coach Dougherty made a lasting impression on my professional
career. I took those wonderful
coaching / teaching principles
and applied them to the group
of men and women that I lead
in the US Secret Service.
In 2005, I had the opportunity to
inform and personally thank
Coach Dougherty for the significant impact he made on my life. I am very glad that I had
that opportunity!
Coach Dougherty, I will remember and respect you
always!
Rest in Peace Coach
