E. Frame Obituary

FRAME
E. BARTRAM, a long time resident of Waverly Heights in Gladwyne, passed away Oct. 23, 2008 at the age of 97. He was the son of Edgar G. Frame and Jennie Rittenhouse Frame. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Geraldine Murphy Frame; a daughter, Nancy Frame Cobb (Jay) of Collegeville, Pa; son E. Bartram Frame, Jr. (Joan) of Readfield, ME, and Lincoln, CA; 7 grand-children, Dorothy Turek (Tom), John Jackson (Kim), Rollen W. Cobb III, Vera C. Greiser, Lawrence Jackson (Karen), David Frame (Cindy) and Meredith F. Molokie (Tom); 14 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Mishler Frame and a sister, Maude F. Hallowell. Mr. Frame was born in West Phila. in 1911 and is a descendant of John Bartram, America's first botanist, as well as the Rittenhouse Family of Rittenhouse Square. He graduated from Overbrook H.S. and attended the University of Pennsylvania's Towne School of Engineering, where he graduated in 1933 as a member of the Tau Beta Pi Honorary Academic Society. Mr Frame worked his entire career with the Monarch Manufacturing Works, Inc. in Phila. where he started as staff engineer and rose to President. He served in that capacity for many years until retiring. During the years, he served on many industry professional committees and societies. He also served as President of the Waverly Heights Resident's Association. Mr. Frame travelled all over the world, his favorite place being China. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 A.M., Mon. Oct. 27 at Waverly Heights in the Manor House, 1400 Waverly Rd., Gladwyne, Pa. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Bartram Associates, Bartram's Garden, 54th & Lindbergh Blvd., Phila., Pa 19143.
