To Phyllis and family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on Gene's passing. I remember him as a warm and very funny person. I go back a long way with my friend and schoolmate, Avery and remember spending the night at your home as a kid. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Kind Regards,
Monica Moore (Miquon alum)

Dear Gene, Vaya con Dios. Chestnut Hill hasn't been the same in the years since Blue Moon closed. So many wonderful memories & some of our now best friends we first met there. Phyllis was aways the calming influence in that crazy dance.

No restaurant experience, before or since, compares to the great 20+ years at the Blue Moon. Adios Gene; thanks for the memories, and the songs!!

I am so very happy that I got to visit with Uncle Gene just a few weeks ago. Though very ill, his unique and refreshing character was very evident. You are all in our prayers. While Uncle Gene's passing is sad, thinking of him brings a smile to my face - I know he would approve of that.

Uncle Gene was more than an uncle to me. He was a friend who helped me through some difficult times, and was an inspiration of caring and love to all who knew him. He taught me things in that gentle way that only Gene knew how to do. Although I am saddened by his passing, his memory will always be one of warmth and happiness for me.

Gene was, as everyone who knew him knows, a character. But what many people may not realize was his warmth and generosity. He was like a wonderful uncle to me, telling great stories about the war, music, politics. He will be missed by so many. My condolences to all his family, especially Phyllis.
