FRED UNGERMAN

UNGERMAN FRED ANTON, SR. Of Hatboro, passed away on October 14, 2021 peacefully at his home. Fred is survived by his wife of 72 years, Janet (nee Shultz), daughters Beth Ungerman Rosenbloom, Pamela Ungerman deMent and Nancy Ungerman Mansfield, son Fred A. Ungerman Jr., grandchildren Peter John Marcellino, Julia Lin Marcellino, Kimberly deMent Dean, Reed Stevenson deMent, Elizabeth Mansfield Boazak, Theodore Ethan Mansfield, Fred A. Ungerman III and Kara Ungerman Vogel, and great-granddaughter, Alice Bailey Vogel. Fred was preceded in death by his brothers Warren John Ungerman and John Paul Ungerman, and by his grandson, Allen Barton deMent. Fred was born to Anton John Ungerman and Ruth Smith Ungerman in Miami, FL and grew up in Freeport, PA. He graduated from high school in 1942, then joined the Army and went on to serve in World War II in the Engineering Corps of the Eighth Army in the European Theater. After returning from Europe, he graduated from Drexel University summa cum laude with a degree in electrical engineering and became a registered professional engineer. He spent the majority of his career as VP of Engineering at Robert E. Lamb, Inc. in Audubon, PA and focused on the construction of manufacturing facilities. He earned an MBA from Temple University. He was a lifelong Presbyterian and member of the Huntingdon Valley Presbyterian Church for 62 years, where he served as an Elder and a Deacon. He was also a lifelong Rotarian and a Freemason. He was wholly committed to his family, his faith and his work. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22 at 11:00 A.M. at Huntingdon Valley Presbyterian Church, 2364 Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
