We were fortunate to have George as a professor as graduate students. I am forever grateful for his guidance as my advisor and friend. He went above and beyond duty for both of us, helping us to find jobs and opportunities in our careers. He was kind and (fairly) patient! He took our work seriously and made it much better. We will remember his great story-telling and wonderful sense of humor. We know he deeply respected and loved his wife and daughters. We will miss him.
Our sincere condolences,
Jody Graham and Michael Watkins

Rest in Peace George. As a fraternity-brother, one year behind me, I recall his contributions to what made us the outstanding Frat at Gburg and among all of the Phi Sig Brotherhood nationwide.

Dear Christine and Sara: Ann and I are very sorry to hear this news. We live mostly outside of Chapel Hill now, but return often to Columbus to see our kids and grandchildren, who live on Vernon. I walk by the old house quite often and always think fondly of your dad and mom. Very good people.
Love, allan and ann silverman
