GUNTRAM WEISSENBERGER Obituary

WEISSENBERGER

GUNTRAM J., SR. passed away peacefully in his home during the early hours of the morning on December 22nd, 2012. His life story is one of a remarkable man, who in the course of 86 years faced certain death in war, grew up under fascism, survived Communism and triumphed under capitalism. He conquered a place in the sun for himself and his family, inspired his staff, satisfied his customers and as a real estate planner, developer and builder created the projects he dreamt about.
His path, which started in a small village in Upper Austria, led him across the Atlantic to America, where Congressman (and later president) John F. Kennedy personally introduced legislation in Congress to make him a citizen of the United States.
Guntram Weissenberger's life story covers the dictatorship of Adolf Hitler, his escape from military service and sure death, his pursuit of studies on two continents resulting in two Master's degrees in archi-tecture and engineering, a Master's degree from the Harvard Business School, as well as a doctor's degree.
His defeat of incurable cancer, his achievements as a sailor, wind surfer, alpine skier and golfer, but also his skills as an artist, author and Entrepreneur are remarkable.
He is survived by his wife Eva, his daughter Nina and his son Guntram Jr. As per his wishes he will be laid to rest in his home town of Frankenmarkt in Austria where he was distin-guished as an honorary citizen.

I had the joy of knowing Mr. Weissenberger and he was a font of knowledge, told ribald stories, was always a wonderful man and generous to a fault. It is our loss that he no longer graces the world. You have my deepest sympathies.

I had hoped to have Guntram autograph the book for me. Guntram may you rest in peace. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to your family.

Guntram was, and still is, a true inspiration for his fellow townsmen of his home town of Frankenmarkt in Austria. In addition to Austrian's youth, especially for me, Guntram is a extraordinary role model I admire profoundly.
I would like to express my deepest condolences to family Weissenberger. May he rest in peace...
