Age 95. March 14, 2018. Artist, poet, dancer, deli chef, beloved patriarch. Born Oct. 18, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY to Hungarian and Polish immigrants. Enlisted in Army, served in CCC and as gas welder in Phila. Naval Shipyard before pioneering Phila.'s first delicatessen restaurants.
Husband of Robin (nee Morley); father of Stewart (Karen) Bernstein, Esq., Diane (Jerry) Panto, Lois (Jerry) Blaney, and the late Marsha Bernstein; step-father of the late Eileen Mansky; also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service Thursday, April 12, 2018, 11 A.M., at Church of the Good Samaritan, 212 W. Lancaster Ave., Paoli PA 19301. Co-officiated by Rabbi Jeffrey Friedman and Rector Richard Morgan. Contributions in his memory may be made to Children of Jacob.
