JAMES L. WEINSTEIN Obituary

WEINSTEIN JAMES L. Passed away at his home on September 5th, he was 71 years old. He is survived by his beloved wife, Fran, his children, Jeff (Jordan) and Lisa (Gop), as well as his three granddaughters, Blake, Georgia, and Lily. He spent his career in healthcare, obtaining a Master's in Public Health and an MBA. His last position was as Chief Financial Officer of Penn Medicine at Home, where he continued to contribute up to his passing. Outside of work, Jim was very engaged in politics - a longstanding passion. He was also an active volunteer, working with the Jewish Federation and his local food bank. He also had a deep love for sports, especially his alma mater, the University of Michigan. This had special significance because this is where he met his wife, whom he adored for 47 years. Above all else, Jim loved his family. He was there celebrating his children's lives, from the smallest of accomplishments to the most momentous occasions. He treasured his granddaughters. A graveside Service will be held Monday, September 8th, at 11 A.M. at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, the Parkinson's Research Foundation, or to the charity of the donor's choice. www.goldsteinsfuneral.com

I'm a grade school friend of Jimmy's, and have LOVED seeing him at so many reunions over these years. I always gravitated towards him, because he was so easy to talk to. We never ran out of things to discuss. He never finished a conversation without telling me that he wished I could meet Fran one day, and what a great person she is, and how much I'd like her. I am so sorry that never happened. Over the last few years, we talked on the phone once in awhile, and I cherish those conversations. I am still in such shock, and so incredibly sad. It's so hard to even be writing this. May his memory forever be a beautiful blessing to everyone who knew him and loved him. May be rest in peace surrounded by all of our love. We will never ever forget you, Jimmy!!!!

Jimmy-We Called Him Peanuts
I grew up with Jimmy. We were in nursery school together, all the way through 12th grade. We both went to Camp Esther K Newman, and spent countless days and weekends with the rest of "our gang" in our Bagel neighborhood.
There was always something special about Jimmy. I can´t help but smile whenever I think of him. He was a genuine classic-one of a kind. To know him was to love him.
I will always remember Jimmy Weinstein.

My sincerest condolences to Fran and family. May Jim rest in peace. Jimmie and I have been friends since early childhood in our close knit neighborhood "Bagel" in Omaha. My last time seeing Jim was in 2022 at our 50th high school reunion. I will always remember Jim as being quite animated when passionate about a subject. We Omahans will miss you my friend. May your memory be a blessing and live on in the hearts and minds of those that loved you.

This is such sad news. I roomed with Jim at UofM but I'd lost track of him after college, since we'd gone on to separate graduate studies and careers. I still remember him so clearly though for his humor, his energy, and his intelligence. Even though I hadn't spoken with him for decades, I still think of him as an important influence in my life. I'm sure that, if I hadn't had the opportunity to live with him, I'd be a lesser man. Godspeed, Jim.

Jimmy was a sweet spot in the lives of so many. Certainly my daughters, nieces and nephews - like a beloved uncle with a broad smile, loving hug and encouraging words whenever he saw them. And so it was true for me, my sister-in-law and especially for my brother, his cherished running buddy. Losing him leaves another hole in our hearts. His love will always live.

Jim and I literally grew up together because he was my first cousin, and were the same age I have found memories of growing up with him. And laughing at all our family events, he was an unbelievable guy. And I will miss him so much. Love to fran and the rest of the family. Marsha Fox

Jimmy and I were in the 6th grade at Western Hills Elementary School and for 3 years we´d walk the several blocks every day to Lewis and Clark Junior High together. He was serious, but easy to laugh and as faithful a friend you could have. He will be missed. For Sue and I our sincere condolences to you and your family.
