Dad, it's almost one year since your passing. Not a day has gone by that I have not thought of you and mom. I miss our phone calls, discussing what I'm going to have for lunch then us solving all of the worlds problems. Then calling on my ride home to talk about the rest of our day, whats for dinner and picking the right plays for our sports teams. I still find myself reaching for the phone to call when I need your advise or have some good news that I want to share with someone special. I have been jealous of Joe because of all the time he had there with you, I know when you passed he loss not only a father but also a great friend. I waited to write this because I know it will sound silly but I wanted this to be the last thing added to this guest book before it is removed, I just wanted to say I love you and I miss you and I will always, always remember the things that you taught me and I will try to live my life so that I can make you proud to have called me son.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Hopefully, I have not intruded. If I'm not mistaken, his sister, Anne Speiser Lynch worked with me at Sharp & Dohme in the Personnel Dept. If she is still with us, I would love to hear from her. Again my condolences to all of you. As I remember, the Speiser family was one in a million.

~Comfort~

Last night while I sat crying,
Your distant voice I did hear,
I opened my eyes and looked around
But you did not appear. You said "You have got to listen,
You've got to understand,
God did not take me from you,
He only took my hand.

I did not feel pain that day,
The instant that I died,
He reached down and took my hand,
And pulled me to his side.

He pulled me up and saved me
From the misery and pain;
My body was hurt so badly inside,
I could never be the same.

My search is really over now,
I've found happiness within,
All the answers to my empty dreams
And all that might have been.

I love you and miss you so,
And I'll always be nearby.
My body's gone forever,
But my spirit will never die.

I will see you as you grow older,
And watch your life from above.
Remember I am with you,
you will always have my love.

And so, you must go now,
Live one day at a time.
Just understand-
God did not take me from you,
He only took my hand."
