John Curran Obituary

CURRAN
JOHN J., on June 5, 2003, died at Alexandria Hospital. Mr. Curran was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Catholic University in Washington, D.C He retired from Franciscan Medical Center in Rock Island, IL in 1988, where he was the Director of Education. Mr. Curran relocated to Alexandria in 1988 and served as a member of the Mt. Vernon Hospital Auxiliary. He also served on the Alexandria City Commission on Aging and volunteered as a marshall at Pinecrest Golf course. Survived by wife Mary P. Curran, sister Sr. Frances Amata; children Teresa Horne, Owen Curran, Timothy Sheil and Thomas Sheil, and 9 grandchildren. Friends may call on Sun., June 8 from 2 to 5 P.M. at EVERLY-WHEATLEY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 W. Braddock Rd., Alexandria, VA. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Mon. June 9 at 11 A.M. at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 4329 Sano St., Alexandria. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem., Philadelphia, PA. on Tues. June 10 at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Villa, Flourtown, PA 19031.
