In 2008, I was assigned to the Division II NCAA Northeast Baseball Regional Tournament. I did not know any of my crew members going to NH. I was welcomed by Jack and 3 other members of his college baseball umpires organization. It was a wonderful experience and began a friendship with Jack until his passing.
I took a line from Jack when meeting with coaches and players at home plate. "Play Well" was Jack's comment as we concluded our discussion. I never said good luck to another play or coach since.
I will always be grateful to have know him.

Our condolences to the Dabagian family. Mr. Dabagian was my home room teacher. But more
importantly my basketball coach at AKHS '91. He thought me things on the court and off. He was respected by all. He will never be forgotten. I know he is up in heaven with the other great AKHS teachers that have proceeded him in death, reminiscing about the wonderful years at Kennedy..our school is missed but not forgotten and so now is one of the reasons it was so great. RIP Mr Dabagian you too will not be forgotten.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Growing up just a few houses away and seeing Ellen almost every day, your house was like a second home to me. So I know Mr. Dabagian was a great person. Always so generous with his time and skills and always ready to drop everything to help out anyone he could. He was a very good-hearted man and will be missed very much.

Jack , you will be sorely missed. i had the pleasure to be your neighbor, fellow catholic school teacher (of which we shared many interesting stories), fellow umpire and friend. You were always filled with friendly advice, cynical jokes (just like mine), and such a vast amount of wisdom. Your life was full. it will be us who are left with a great loss. god bless your wife and all of your family.

I am thankful to have been taught by Mr. Dabagian (Latin is for Freshman). He was a good man with a great sense of humor. He's part of my best high school memories including Spain 1987 trip. He was so loved and respected by us as a teacher and as a good man.

Mr. Dabagian was my Latin teacher in Freshman year at AKHS as well as our boys basketball coach. I can still recite my Latin declensions! His picture here is exactly how I remember him. Always smiling and making some funny remark. Such great memories of him. He was a great teacher and you could tell he really cared about us. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I offer my deepest sympathies to the Dabagian family. I am sure you will miss him. He was a uniquely talented man. Mr. Dabagian impacted all of us he taught by keeping us engaged in class. He also positively interacted with us outside of the classroom as he was our Disciplinarian. He gave many of us a nickname. Forty five years later I still remember the day he started calling me Sunkist while asking me a question in his French class freshman year. I was so shy.
I wish I could come to pay my respects in person.
God Bless you!

Mr Dabagian was a fun teacher. One of my favorites. He always had nicknames for students and poked fun at them making the class something to look MORE forward to. I remember him also ranking students according to their grades with the seating. He always made us laugh and despite his light sarcastic humor you could tell he was a genuinely very caring and loving person. Wish I had one more chance to have seen him. He'll be greatly missed! R.I.P. Mr. Dabagian. :(

May the Lord comfort the Dabagian family. Jack was our head basketball coach in 1973-74 at Archbishop Kennedy High School. We were his first varsity basketball league championship team. Under his leadership, we came together, became winners & proved everyone wrong. Jack rightly challenged & disciplined us and was a positive lasting influence in our lives. Thank you, Coach. I will see you on the other side.

I offer my condolences and deepest sympathies to the Dabagian family. He was my favorite teacher and mentor during high school. I had the privilege of being the manager of the boys basketball team during their championship runs of 1977 & 1978. I remember him as being a caring person who always brought out the best in every one. It was his sense of humor that I loved best. I will remember him and the family in my prayers.
