To Pat & Maureen & the McElwee family: Very saddened to hear about the loss of your brother & son. Cannot imagine the grief associated with his loss at such a young age. Knowing your grace & kindness all these years reflects on the wonderful childhood you had & the love & support of your parents. Wishing you solace in fond memories and the grace of God with you and your family.

Johnny was a kind and generous boy who grew into a sensitive and caring man. He was especially sweet to my sister Jeanne, always greeting her warmly and getting down to eye level when he spoke to her in her wheelchair. My memories of Johnny often include a Broomall Little League uniform (was it the A's?), stick ball games in the street(until someone yelled, CAR!!), playing King of the Hill or sledding at our house, bike rides to the Tot Lot on our banana seat bikes and occasional long treks for Slurpees at 7-11. Thanks for being a special part of my childhood. You will be missed. Blessing to the entire family. With Love, Joanie Spiller Muth

My deepest condolences to Ben and the rest of the McElwee family. John was a true friend and though we did not see much of each other in recent years, he was often in my thoughts.
Generous beyond measure, he would easily give whatever was asked of him.
John's passions were camping and fishing. I consider myself lucky to have shared some of these experiences with him.
Rest in peace my friend.

John, you left too soon. Haven't seen you in awhile but always asked Kathy how you were. Still have a picture of you and me sitting on bikes on your back porch. We must of been about 7-8 years old. RIP old friend.

Mac,gonna miss ya Bud. Always there with a laugh and a smile. Mac,one of the toughest nights of my life you were there. My Dad had passed and you and your family were there with beer and board games. It was a great distraction. Bennie, thank you for always having an open door for Mac's friends. It was always fun. Mac, everytime I see a Maxwell House coffee can I think of you! RIP Bud

I'm so sorry for the loss of John. Even though I haven't see him in over 30 years my childhood memories of growing up with John will always be with me. We spent many a happy hour playing football and street hockey. John you will always be in my memories and heart. God speed .
